APP DEVELOPMENT
Girls will learn

a few tutorials in MIT App Inventor together as a class

concepts such as algorithms, psuedocode, and debugging
-
how to implement animation, dropdown menus, speech recognizers, sensors, & cameras in their apps
-
user interface design
SOCIAL IMPACT
The capstone of the camp will be CS+X+Social Good final projects.

Challenge: in groups, girls will build an app that involves something else (X) they like that also helps society
-
For example, CS+English could lead to coding an app that provides ESL students guidance on improving English through a speech recognizer.

They will be guided through the process of brainstorming, designing, prototyping, coding, refining, and presenting with female mentors readily available.

Last day = final presentation day + icecream party! Girls will demo their apps to the group & receive swag bags
